Google acquires Meebo

Google, one of the search engine giant has gone a step ahead and decided to buy the online messaging firm Meebo, which is mainly aimed for instant sharing of Web pages using social networks. Terms of the deal were announced on the company’s blog but it is believed that it would be around $100 million.

Speaking about the deal, Meebo said that they were happy that Google bought their service. Meebo, a privately held company was a tool for users to comment and share web pages through their Meebo bar. They have already reached almost half of the population in US.
