The Renault Scala employs precisely the same dashboard as the Sunny, the only difference that we can make out is the badge and the leather upholstery on this RxZ trim. The cabin is very spacious with big windows, thin pillars that enhance the look of the vehicle. Interior plastics don’t feel as firmly built as its rival the Rapid’s. The seats are comfortable but are placed a bit low. The Skoda Rapid two-tone interiors are identical to the Volkswagen Vento’s and the quality level is more consistent and slightly better than the Scala’s. It has got comfortable driving position because of height-adjustable seat. The front seat is highly comfortable with lots of very space.
Fuel capacity and Engine performance:
The Renault Scala occupies 1.5-litre diesel engine. The motor has 84.8bhp that gives it a plenty of pulling power. Though you might not believe but the fact is that the engine remain very silent when its idle. Ample of power is available in Renault Scala, but it is best to shift up a gear early once you get to higher engine speeds. However Skoda Rapid is concerned, the 1.6-litre diesel motor feels much stronger. The engine is slightly bigger than the Scala’s, though it doesn’t seem to be refined as the Renault’s. The clutch heavier and initially we can feel unexpected barb in power, which grounds to make it jerky at times in traffic.
Performance and Conduct
The Scala’s low-speed ride is rigid at times, but improves as the speeds go high. Uneven and bumpy surfaces tend to make us feel discomfort. Its light steering is a bonus while riding in the city and in highways. Stability is extraordinary. The Rapid on the other is comfortable and gives good grip when ride. Low-speed ride is easily swayed. The Rapid’s soft front suspension tends to move up and down a bit and sometimes it gives shrill jerk over big holes. While driving on highways you can feel ultimate comfort. The steering is light which is perfect for city rides but it doesn’t perform that well though you increase the speed.
Comfort and Space
Renault’s compartment feels very airy and spacious. The rear seat gives more space for the knee though it’s it is slightly short like the front seats. The boot, at 490 litres, is quite generous, and the seats fold down to further increase the available luggage-carrying space. Rapid has only 460 litres of boot space. The cabin is comparatively spacious with enough legroom for the rear seat passengers and the clever lever on the bottom of the front passenger seat helps slide it forward with ease. The wide dimensions of the car make sitting for three easy and soothe.

The Scala come up in two tidy levels. The lower RxL trim gets keyless entry, power windows, steering-mounted audio controls, alloy wheels, climate control, safety kits like two airbags and ABS. The top-end RxZ has added features like push-button ignition, leather upholstery and electrically folding wing mirrors. The diesel Rapid comes in five variants.
The Active gets adjustable steering, Active Plus features keyless entry and electric adjust for the wing mirrors. The Ambition has got ABS, a driver airbag, rear defogger and fog lamps. The Ambition Plus gets a two-DIN music system and electric wing mirrors. And the top Elegance variant gets alloy wheels, two airbags, climate control, a trip computer and the front seat adjust lever.
